How to read your 4x4 tyre size
For example, if your tyre reads 245/65R17 111/108Q it means:
245 This is the width of the tyre in millimetres.
65 This is the aspect ratio (profile), showing the sidewall height as a percentage of the tyre’s width. Here, it’s 65% of 245mm.
R Radial construction
17 This is the wheel diameter in inches.
111/108 This is the load rating. It shows the maximum weight the tyre can safely carry. Dual numbers are common on 4×4 tyres, where 111 is the load rating for single tyre use and 108 is the load rating when used in dual (paired) setups.
Q is the speed rating. It means the tyre is rated for speeds up to 100 mph (160 km/h).
